In 2013, longtime parishioner Peg Davis bequeathed $125,000 to the Seneca Civic Fund and designated it for the benefit of St. Patrick Parish. The Seneca Civic Fund board recently approved disbursing all remaining money to help with repairs to the church, which totals $155,033. Many, many thanks to the board members for seeing the importance of our church. Gratitude is also due to Peg Davis for remembering her parish in her will. May she rest in peace.
The Diocese of Peoria has approved St. Patrick Parish to raise $481,000 of ADA exempt funds, meaning they are not included when calculating the ADA goal. Any funds remaining after critical repairs are made will be used for other worthwhile projects at St. Patrick Church, such as repairing the entry doors or refinishing the terrazzo floors.
